ROUGHRIDERS ADD TWO TO PRACTICE ROSTER

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive lineman Treven Ma’ae and American wide receiver Marcus Sanders Jr.

Ma’ae (6’3-291) signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2026 and spent training camp with the Club.

Collegiately, Ma’ae spent his junior and senior seasons (2023-24) at Baylor, suiting up for 25 games and recording 51 tackles, including seven tackles for a loss of 27 yards, four sacks, five quarterback hurries and two pass deflections. The Hawaii native’s best season came as a senior, where he started all 13 games and was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention by the league coaches and College Football Network.

Prior to Baylor, Ma’ae spent four seasons (2019-22) at Oregon, suiting up for 29 games as a Duck. He registered 32 defensive tackles, including four for a loss, three sacks and one pass deflection.

Sanders Jr. (6’1-190) was signed as an undrafted free agent by the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings in April. He attended training camp with the team, playing in all three of the Vikings’ pre-season games.

He joined the Vikings after spending four collegiate seasons (2022-25) at Georgia Southern. Over that time, the Georgia-born receiver caught 85 passes for 1,217 yards and eight touchdowns in 46 games.

Sanders Jr. enjoyed an impressive senior season, catching 50 passes for 797 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games. He was especially effective in two games against Appalachian State, making 11 receptions for 199 yards and two TDs. In the second game versus Appalachian State, he caught five passes for 72 yards and one TD in the Birmingham Bowl.

In a corresponding move, the Roughriders have released defensive back Millard Bradford III and receiver Vyshonne Janusas.
